Cleveland House

Received from a 41 year old male traveler from Northern California on Sunday, July 13, 2008:
"Cleveland House, Newport, Rhode Island - I stayed at Cleveland House for three nights in July of 2008. It's an old-school B&B on a charming, leafy street run by a hands-on owner who enthusiastically cared about the quality of my stay. The bed was fantastic -- I slept like a baby all three nights. The hot water was plentiful, and my whirlpool tub enormous. The air conditioning was reliable and easy to adjust, critical in the summer months. The location is good, a short walk to the bars on the wharf and to the common, a park where I routinely took lunch. I'm not a fan of some of the larger, could-be-anywhere hotels that front the water in Newport -- they feel too much like convention hotels. The Cleveland House is the real deal. The owner owns several inns on Clarke Street, so if I called the Cleveland House for a future stay and it happened to be full, I suspect he could get me in to another of his inns. I would stay at the Cleveland House again, and would recommend it to people looking for coastal New England authenticity."
